There are three options for finding and locating eBooks at the MU libary:Using One Search, the library catalog, and individual databases. Follow the directions and illustrations below for each option.
One Search
You can search One Search from the tabbed box on the Library’s homepage. You can either search for an ebook of a “known item” (I know which book I want) or a subject search (I want to see ebooks on a particular subject area).
Narrow down your search with options on the left side of the search results screen.
Clicking “Full Text Online” will take you to the database (ProQuest, JSTOR, EBSCO, etc.) that has the ebook.
Individual databases (ProQuest, EBSCO, Science Direct)
Go to Databases A-Z or any Search page and click on the database you want.
MU Catalog
You can use the catalog to find ebooks, the same way you do with One Search.
You can search from the tabbed box on the Library’s home page. You can either search for an ebook of a “known item” (I know which book I want) or a subject search (I want to see ebooks on a particular subject area).
Narrow down your search with options on the left side of the search results screen.
Clicking on View Ebook will send you to the database it’s held in (ProQuest, EBSCO, etc.)
The catalog can be a little tricky! Editions and formats are grouped together under “master records.” If you want a different edition of a title, click on View All next to “Worldwide Editions and Formats.” (See image below).
That’s where you can see print and e-editions. If we don’t have an ebook of something, that’s how you can quickly see if we have the print, or if it needs to be requested.
NOTE: We currently don’t ILL ebooks.
